I have received some information that suggest Virgin are getting ready jump on the Android bandwagon hard! At this stage i have no specifics in regards to manufacturers, release dates or pricing, but i have been told that there are a number of manufactures in the mix and not just Sony Ericsson and Samsung.
On a side note, HTC . . . → Read More: Virgin getting ready to rollout Android in a serious way?

In a major coup for Google and Android, Palm’s Vice President for Human Interface and User Experience, Matias Duarte has left Palm to become the new User Experience Director for Android. Hopefully this will bring a needed consistency to Androids UI and bring it that one step closer in a visual sense to the iPhone . . . → Read More: Palm’s WebOS design man – Matias Duarte, jumps on the Android bandwagon

Checking out Gizmodo today i found this lovely little video of the tallest made-man point on Earth, the top of the spire from the Burj Dubai. It’s a must to see, incredible views but you would never get me up there. Check it out after the break.

I love YouTube, i spend many nights rummaging through the ever increasing catalogue of rubbish being uploaded by people, just looking for a laugh. Well this weekend funny stuff happened, two major outbursts by a music artist and a tennis player became Youtube hits. The first was Kanye West’s outburst during Taylor Swift’s award acceptance speech for Best Female Video, Kanye jumps on stage and steals the mic from Taylor and then continues to tell everyone Beyonce’s video was the best ever made, poor Taylor.
The next little outburst was a little more profound. Serena Williams suffered a bit of foot and mouth in her Semi Final clash with Kim Cjlisters, she gets a foot fault call against her and just loses the plot in a big big way. Serena threaten the line judge with a verbal spray “I swear to God I’m f**king going to take this f**king ball and shove it down your f**king throat and kill you” Wow!!! thats a heavy weekend. This week has been a good week for WinMo 6.5, with images popping up everywhere, of it’s new interface and look. Now someone has decided to give everyone the video tour. Running on a HTC Touch HD, the 9 minute video demonstrates many of the new features including the new IE Mobile, the “honeycomb” launcher, new tabs and skins for dialogue boxes, the new home screen. It’s definitely still not ready and as Engadget said it seems very much beta.
I think this is a step in the right direction, it’s becoming more finger friendly but still has some ways to go. The interface looks much nicer, more appealing to a wider audience but it’s not without it’s issue in this form, the portrait mode ran painful slow and unresponsive at times, given it’s probably in beta this should get fixed, IE Mobile still has a long way to go if it wants to catch up to the likes of Opera or the iPhone’s Safari, but as i said earlier it does looks very nice, a damn site better then 6.1 does, the new features and new interface do look very good and when a nice device is released with 6.5 running the show (Omnia HD anyone???) it would make me seriously consider purchasing it.
