It’s awesome to see someone like Microsoft finally enter the retail store space, offering a retail experience not quite seen before, but if i said they went to all the trouble and didn’t actually open the store, would you think they were crazy? Well this is exactly what MS has done, they have opened up a 1,850 square meter store at MS HQ in Redmond, decked out with everything Microsoft, from Surface to software to joystick and game controllers, computers loaded with everything Windows, fully operational checkouts and tills, interactive shopping trolleys and even a fully functional loading dock but………no customers. Why? well from the video it seems it’s a sort of training facility for both Microsoft and it’s partners, helping them sell the product more effectively and to market the product better, to understand how things can be done better. It is still a big downer that this isn’t a real retail shop otherwise I’d already be there. For photos and videos of the store check out the Microsoft Retail Experience Centre.
